Attorney Toni Monroe-Jenkins is an Associate with the Griffin Firm. Born in New York but raised in Moore County, North Carolina, she earned her Bachelor of Social Work Degree from North Carolina A&T State University and her Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University School of Law in Durham, North Carolina.
Before joining the Griffin Firm, Toni who has been licensed in North Carolina since May 1987, brings significant legal experience to the firm and has worked in a variety of legal arenas, which have included serving as an Assistant District Attorney, an Assistant Public Defender, and as a Staff Attorney with Legal Services of NC, representing victims of Domestic Violence. Toni has spent the last several years working as principal of her own firm handling civil, criminal and administrative matters, but for the past six years, has focused her practice on estate planning, probate and special proceeding matters in Durham and the surrounding areas.
Toni has supervised and trained law students, mentored youth in the Big Brothers/Sisters program, and enjoys working with animals. Toni has served on the board of ACRA (Affordable Community Residence Association), a local non-profit dedicated to housing and case management of persons living with HIV/AIDS; served as General Counsel for CAARE, Inc. another non-profit committed to providing all-around supportive services to persons living with HIV/AIDs and the community as a whole.
