Cynthia Martin is a transplant from Florida but has lived in the District of Columbia for over 20 years. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Rollins College. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of Florida. Go Gators!
Before joining the Griffin Firm, Cynthia worked in the United States House of Representatives as a Legislative Counsel, a Legislative Director, and as a Chief of Staff. In her various roles on Capitol Hill, she shaped and wrote policy, implemented legislative agendas, interfaced with federal agencies, constituents and lobbyists. She was especially passionate about criminal justice disparities, entitlement protection, issues impacting minority women and achieving foreign policy parity for Haiti.
Though she had many wonderful moments working on Capital Hill, her most special moment was the privilege of helping to coordinate Mrs. Rosa Parks “lie in honor” at the United States Capital in 2005.
Cynthia is continuing in her commitment to economically empower people through Legacy Building through Estate and Business Planning.
Cynthia is licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
